Q: Where can I use purchase the tether connector strap so I can use the top tether for my rear-facing Coccoro?
A:
The Tether Connector strap can be purchased from Combi by contacting Customer Service. Instructions for correct use are included with the connector strap. Coccoro models that have a Date if Manufacture 08/2011 and newer have the Tether Connector Strap included with the seat. Additional straps may be purchased from CombiUSA directly.

A:
At this time we cannot recommend that Tether Connector Straps obtained from manufacturers other than CombiUSA be used with the Coccoro.

Q: Can I purchase a rear-facing tether kit for my 2010 Coccoro model?
A: YES!
Rear-Facing Tether Kits are NOW available for purchase separately. This will be one of the many new features that will be included on the 2011 model Coccoro.

Q:
Can the Coccoro use the lap and shoulder belt when using more than one seat in the rear of the car?
A: How the seat is installed depends on the vehicle belts available in each particular vehicle and seating location. The seat can be installed with the lap and shoulder belt, lap belt or LATCH.

Q: Will the Coccoro have a latch system included with the seat?
A: Yes. New vehicles and child restraints manufactured on and after September 1, 2002 will be equipped with the LATCH system.

Q: What is the age requirement to remove the infant insert?
A: Infant insert must be used for infants less than 25 lbs. Discontinue use of the infant inserts when shoulders are above the top shoulder strap slots forward-facing or shoulder straps become too short to fit child.

Q: Which slots are for rear facing and forward facing?
A: Rear-facing : All slots can be used in this position. Shoulder harness straps must be through the harness slots at or just below child’s shoulders.
Forward-facing: Only use the 3rd set or top set of harness slots forward facing. Shoulders harness straps must be at or above shoulders.

Q: Is the crotch buckle washable or removable?
A: Yes. Rinse buckle with warm water. DO NOT use household detergents. Never lubricate buckle.

Q: If you are not using the car seat with the latch system does it have to stay in the pouch that is provided at all times?
A: When not using the LATCH System, store the lower anchor belt and hook-on connectors by removing the lower anchor belt and connectors from the forward-facing belt path and store in the pocket on the right side of the child restraint underneath seat pad.

Q: Can the harness be removed from the car seat?
A: No. The harness is not designed to be completely removed from the restraint.

Q: Can the headrest be removed from the infant insert?
A: No. The head pillow and lower pillow are both part of the infant insert and should always be used together.

Q: Will there be a compatibility list of vehicles that the seat will fit into?
A: At this time a list is not available.

Q: Which is more safe rear facing or forwarding facing? And Why?
A: Rear-Facing is safest.  It is best to remain rear-facing to the weight and height limits of the child restraint.  In all cases, infants should be rear-facing until they are BOTH one year AND twenty pounds at the very minimum.  The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that babies be kept in rear-facing seats for as long as possible.
Rear-facing child restraints are the most effective of all types of child restraints. In frontal crashes, which are the most frequent and severe, the primary restraint surface is the back of the shell. The shell supports the head and distributes impact forces over a wide area to the infant’s strongest body region, the back. It also lets the head and torso move together, which prevents excessive stretching of the neck. The harness provides secondary restraint on rebound during frontal crashes and keeps the child within the restraint during other types of crashes.

Q: Will a canopy be available for this seat?
A: Currently a canopy is not available, however, we are considering an accessory canopy for the future.

Q: What material does the seat cover consist of?
A: 100% Polyester

Q: Are the Seat Cushion and other fabrics machine washable?
A: Yes. Machine wash in cool water, using mild detergent. Roll in a towel to remove excess water and lay flat to dry.

Q: Can I use an inflatable seat belt to install my Combi car seat?
A: Combi USA currently prohibits the use of Inflatable seat belts to install Combi brand Child Restraint Systems. Included in this statement are all Combi brand infact Seats, Convertible Seats and Booster Seats secured and used in motor vehicles and aircraft.

If a seating position that has an inflatable seat belt in a passenger vehicle has a manufacturer-designated LATCH system, Combi infant and convertible seats may be installed using only the LATCH system by carefully following the Combi Owner's Manual Instructions. Buckling the seat belt behind the seat, through the belt path or in front of the seat is not permitted.

Combi brand booster seats cannot be used in seating positions with inflatable seat belts.

Combi USA continues to evaluate the information provided by automobile, seat belt and airbag manufacturers and will revise requirements, recommendations and position statements as new data becomes available.
